GrimSkunk – Paris 2014 | ABSE Photography

GrimSkunk was supporting Tagada Jones at the Trabendo, Paris, France, on April 11th 2014 .

The five pieces band from Montreal, Canadal, has been playing what they call “world punk” – a mix of Punk, Hardcore, Progressive, Raggae, Psychedelic Rock, Ska, Rap and whatever reach their mind – since 1988. They put on a great show, seeing a mixture of at least French and English, meaningfull songs, both calmness and action on stage. While having to stay seated because of his bad knee, Franz Schuller is still impressive on vocals and guitar. Joe Evil has a maniac look when he get excited and do most of the hiphop style lyrics and keyboard. Vincent Peake on bass guitar and a bit of vocal backup is a not as present as both other vocalist, while Peter Edwards is doing good on the lead guitar. Ben Shatskoff on the drums is a bit cut of the show with so many people on the front of the stage unfortunatly. A really good show from on of the founding band of the “alternative” scene in Quebec and that managed to import some of our French bands to Canada, including Tagada Jones they were supporting this night.
