There is quite a few interresting buildings in the newly build area of the city.

At the west of the cicty, the Passage de Pommeraye is a nice shopping mall from the middle of the ninetith century.

As usual the show was really visual, with Rob and the other musicians putting on loads of different outfits, the light being well managed. The interaction with the public is really good and all in all that was an awesome show, even if it wasn’t has impressive than when I saw them in Vancouver for the Twosome Gruesome Tour with Alice Cooper.

As They Burn jouait en première partie du concert de Despised Icon au Divan du Monde le 28 Avril 2014.

Déjà très impressionné par leur prestation aux côtés d’Emmure en 2012 (c’était clairement pour moi la meilleur prestation de la soirée), c’est avec grand plaisir que je revois les Parisiens d’As They Burn sur scène. Le courant était bien passé avec les gars Despised Icon lors d’une de leur précédente venue en France avant leur séparation, et c’est pour ça qu’ils les accompagnent sur ce tour. Le groupe composé de Kevin Trevor au micro, Ronald Pastor  à la basse, Fabio Meschini et Hoby Arinosy aux guitares ainsi que de Milton Bakech à la batterie est depuis le dernier album complété par Bastien Jacquesson pour les parties claviers/prog.

Niveau musical, on retrouve un savant mélange de Deathcore/Death Metal/Metalcore, puissant, avec des voix claires qui restent mélodiques et puissantes sans tomber dans le niais. Ils ont un style bien a eu vraiment agréable a écouter, et qui a autant la pêche sur scène qu’en CD. On sent un vrai travail et c’est d’ailleurs pour ça surement que leur musique arrive bien à se démarquer de la masse des groupes de Deathcore qui pullulent de nos jours et à ne pas être répétitive.

Je recommande donc fortement d’écouter si vous ne connaissez pas déjà, et mieux, d’aller à un de leur concert pour retrouver la puissance de Ronald et Kevin sur scène. Il est un poil dommage d’ailleurs que Fabio et Hoby soient un peu effacé même s’ils font bien leur boulot. Et une chose est sur, le public n’a pas manqué de montrer son enthousiasme pendant le concert, se rapprocher pour prendre des photos n’était pas une partie de plaisir.

The crowd was crazy and well the six piece band is just a killer on stage. Alexandre Erian on screaming with great faces and interactions, Steve Marois on squealing with a huge smile, Eric Jarrin and Ben Landreville on guitars, Sebastien Piché on bass and Alexandre Pelletier on drums play a good deathcore. They are from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, so they could interact with the crowd with their cousin accent, telling us a good deal of fun story that happened each time they were coming to play in Paris. A well rounded set, shame that is only a temporary get back together!!

Mark I, Mark II and Mark III together.

I owned all three Canon EOS 5D, and well I currently have all of them at home until I sell my MarkII. I did a quick shoot, nothing fancy quality wise, to see what they looks like next to each other.

DevilDriver was headling at Le Trabendo, Paris, France on April 1st 2014.

The five-pieces band from California is playing a Groove / Melodic Death Metal, which alternates soft and heavy with fast and hard music and vocals. Their music is quite catching and usually good at moving crowds around, I remember seeing the biggest circle pit ever during their show in Download Festival years ago. Dez Fafara on vocals is the strong point of the show. As he claims during the show, he has ADD and is quite hyper. Love when he said “California is a great place, you can both snowboard and surf on the same day”, well this guy knows how to talk to me! That’s quite strange to see him with a beard though, I’m quite used to his tattooed shin! Jeff Kendrick on guitar and the new recruit Chris Towning on bass are the shave heads of the groupe, and they put a good display on stage, putting on faces and display there playing skills. Mike Spreitzer on the guitar and John Boecklin on drums are quite calms on stage.

The shows starts quite early nowdays during the week and ends even earlier, that probably explains why the venue was not fool, but the public really seemed to enjoy the show, singing along and getting hyper on the pit! A good show with good music, clearly the highlight of the evening even though I saw crazier shows from them.

This band from Reading, England, is playing a metal at the crossing of trash, death and progressive. Quite technical and powerfull with deep voice from the singer. Vocalist/lead guitar Josh Middleton is quite passive on stage, but that is often the case when you have to focus too much on your music. Rhythm guitar Alex Bailey looks shy on stage. Bass guitar Carl Parnell is quite the headbanger. Drum was taken over by Ali Richardson from Bleed From Within, and was thanked by Josh as they would not have been able to play otherwise. Not sure if this is only for the show or the tour though! The public was quite enthusiastic and circle pit was all around the pit!

The five pieces scottish band from Glasgow is made up of Scott Kennedy on vocals, Ali Richardson on drums, Davie Provan on bass guitar and Craig Gowans and Martyn Evans on guitars. And well if you missed their accent, you can’t miss the gingers!

They play a deathcore / metalcore that is quite OK, though maybe it tend to lack a bit in deversity as it often do. But they did definatly warm the pit, even managing to get people to do a wall of death which is quite impressive for an opening band (well, only about 20 people but still!)

Sunday 19th January 2014, we all meet around 14:30 in front of the entrance of the park. The weather wasn’t supposed to be good at all, but in the end we even got some sun! You can get a decent feeling of what the weather was like this day, blue on one side, gray on the other.

Sometimes it is hard as well to decide if you want something in or out of your photo. It is quite hard sometimes to decide if your like a picture more in black and white or in colors!
